Tiger - Venture Co.

Just as theres prejudice about men and women, black and white, homosexuals and heterosexuals and even cats and dogs - theres certain things said to be true about Horde and Alliance! And of course all the bad things said about Horde is completely untrue :p

The thing Ive heard people say about Horde is that we are rude people. This was said by my coworker after I stated that we couldn't talk together anymore because he used to play Alliance. I thought I was rather polite since I said "I really like you so its too bad we cant communicate anymore". I thought that was rather nice of me to say - considering he was a former alliance - but apparently he took offense. So to him Horde are just a bunch of rude brutes.

Another Alliance coworker of mine thinks that Horde people are boring, cause we choose such obvious races designed for war. He claims people choosing Horde are going for the safe choice. On the other hand he also says that its much more humiliating getting killed by a gnome than any race of the Horde, which was one of his reason for choosing Alliance. To me it just sounds like Horde people are much braver since they risk the humiliation every day ;) And after reading this i realize i need to get a new job!

Apart from my coworkers, Alliance consists only of young immature males having experienced nothing greater in their life but taking down Onyxia and seeing famous people on television having nipslips. This means that Horde members must be "old" and have all the female gamers as well. Alliance members have parents that control the time they are allowed to play and they use that time to the full advantage to get those epics that means the world to them. These prejudice about Alliance i have heard from other Horde people and i preach them myself - so as you can see i am not rude at all ;)

What assumptions do you have about the two sides?

As you prolly have noticed a lot of people are "flying" around on their new magic broom that u get from killing the headless horseman. Theres been some fun episodes out of that. For instance this chat with Kiaras and take a close look at the picture to see what Ghroktar says :)

Tigers have gotten a very dangerus mission called "to protect Inoscent". Since its secret what the event is about i cant reveal more than this. And more important i cant reveal more cause i really dont know more myself ^^

Hallow's End is a celebration of the break between the Forsaken and the Scourge and in a lot of ways it resembles another tradition called Halloween. They both have the pumpkin theme, the masks and the trick or treating.

Halloween is originally an Irish tradition. Ive never celebrated Halloween myself since the tradition only recently came to Denmark - though any tradition involving lots of candy are more than welcome to me! However i have celebrated Hallows End before and im getting all nostalgic these days since this was my very first wow event! I joined the Horde and TIger a year ago so last Hallows End i was running around Silverpine Forrest...ah those where the days :) And i found it so amazing that the world of warcraft resembled rl in this way. THere arent really seasons in wow but with things like Hallows End and Valentines Day you still feel how the year passes by in wow as well.

Anyway, i remember i used a lot of time last year on getting bobbing apples and i trick and treated everytime i could! I got as much possible out of that event last year thats for sure. To me it was just amazing that u could dress up and i had loads of fun with it. When xmas came i had equal fun with snowballs and making rein dears - not to forget the mistletoe ;)

Besides the above mentioned features theres also the Wickerman Festival outside Undercity. At 20.00gm they set a wickerman on fire and if you click him it will give you a very nice buff that increases your xp and reputation earned by 10% for 2 hours! At the festival an undead lady called Yanka encourage you to throw stink bombs and rotten eggs at Southshore...but who needs encouragement for that sort of thing ;) While you are there be sure go visit Brill to see the Headless Horseman who is a new feature this year.

He flies around and sets building on fire and you can help the people in Brill by throwing water at the fire when he arrives. While you wait you can even practice your skills in firefighting! In doing so you will be rewarded with a tasty pumpkin that has a rather funny effect on you ^^

If you think you can defeat the Headless Horseman you can summon him from the Scarlet Monastary graveyard and if you succeed there are some special treasures to get! Ive done it ;)

One of the top guilds of our server is the alliance guild called Ye olde goon squade. You have probably noticed them - not because they are many - but because ones you run into them the usually make the meting...memorable. In other words: they will most likely kill you! And if you think about the name it shouldn't be a suprice to you that they like to gank people. According to Wikipedia a Goon Squad is

"A group, frequently but not always vigilante* in nature, usually run by less than savory government or labor figures"

*Someone who follows his/hers own rules!

Also a goon is defined as: "...a slang term referring to thugs hired by bosses or other authorities. So in this guild we are dealing with "thugs" unlike most allys these can be trusted - they will most likely kill you every time they meet you!

There are two approaches if you run into them. You can run and hide or simply show that you mean no harm and dont wish to fight. This can be a good strategy since its hardly ever a good idea to start a war with this guild. Im not saying that you cant defeat a goon member but since this seems to be what they live for they will not let it go easy. Soon there will prolly be a massive backup and the last thing we want is a war against them. Another strategy would be to strike first. Since these "goons" like to fight and most likely will try to kill you, its always an advantage to strike first. Choose a strategy cause you will run into at least one of these lads one day and you'd wish you had a strategy.

I said my opinion about this ganking behavior in an old post (look under march) and wont get into that again. This is simply a warning to those who has been lucky enough not to run into Goon Squad members. But i found it amusing that if you look Goon up in Wikipedia it says:

"The word 'Goon' is also an English term for someone who is classed as an 'Idiot' or a half-wit." ^^

Tonight Kiaras is giving all Tiger Cubs the change to be promoted to Tigers if they just help out with one important task for Tiger.

I personally didnt do any quests of any kind but i liked the atmosphere there and it was crazy seeing all those people running around like mad men. So it was fun to watch both the npc's and the players go crazy but i didnt bother participating myself. Anyway, tell me what you thought about it :)

ps: We have a bar in Denmark called "Out of Juice" so i thought the title was funny ^^

Today i went online in wow and i saw Xorz writing "join the party outside Ogrimmar" In gc. Ofcourse i was curious of what was going on but i didnt expect the sight that met me! Well first it wasnt actually so impressive since my pc lagged a lot and i only saw a few people running around. But then i realized that everybody was mounted on a ram? Then tents showed up and little goblins with quests for me, and i realised its another Blizzard event. Going further into the investigation i discovered that it was the best event ever; a brewfest! But dont take my word for it, go see it yourself. And then maybe tell us what you think about this event ;) (I swear i dont get payed by Blizzard for doing this post...but they should!)

This event lasts till the 16th and you can see it outside Ogrimmar, Undercity, Thunder Bluff and Shattrath.

Here is what Blizzard writes about it;

"Celebrated by both the Horde and the Alliance, the Brewfest is a time to enjoy the fermented fruits of the harvest: pretzels, cheese, and booze! The competing breweries Thunderbrew, Barleybrew, and the Ogres, all come together outside of all the major cities in a bid to outdo each other with their special ales, meads, and beers. Brave adventurers are invited to sit back, take a pull, and sample the finest wares these brewers have to offer!"
