Thanks for a great storynight

The gist of the it is that all had to race from outside Undercity to a little island up north were Uncle Fuzzy were standing. No mounts, no aspect of the cheetah, blink, sprint ect. Ofcourse some missed that point and got discalified on the way (*cough* *cough* Lucifre!). Fayne also thought it was runtime on "1" instead of on "go" and was out of the race pretty fast. The winner was Darthalas who has proven to have a good pair of legs on him. And as a price he won some new lvl 15 running shoes. So grats to Darthalas :)

Uncle Fuzzy waited on the island and asked us to take place by the campfires as he told a rather sweet story about how he used to want to be just like Elvis. After the story we headed to GromGol were we walked in a line untill Rezi was almost eaten by a raptor and we picked up the pace. We payed the Rebel Camp a visit and while everybody was heading for westfall our dear Zirrath just couldnt get enough of that ally killing and i had to drag him along. In westfall we fought a lot of npcs, ofc the flightmasters and the few allys that was there and had pvp enabled. There was this lvl 11 warlock gnome who summoned his pet, enabled pvp and started shooting at us - the brave little soul didnt last long, but still he hopelessly tried to get revenge ^^

Soon some lvl 70 allies heard the news and they started to put up a fight, but by Fuzzys orders we stuck together and managed to stay alive. Once again Tiger has shown the world that when we come along you should just step aside ;)

Thank you uncle Fuzzy for aranging this event and thanks to all the Tigers that showed up.

Uncle Fuzzys Storynight

So for all you newcommers I'll let you in on how the concept of "Uncle Fuzzys Storynight" started. A long time ago some Tigers where talking rubbish in guildchat as usual and at some point i think i called Fuzhill "uncle fuzzy". Then came the idea that we should all sit around a cozy fire and listen to what stories our uncle might have.

Being an old (shadow/holy/shadow/holy/shadow ect) priest i can asure you he has something to tell and the first time we we were all a bit spooked of the story. In fact we were so spooked, we had to go kill a lot of alliance afterwards just to get it out of our systems ^^

Due to computer problems its been a while since the last storytelling event and i know our uncle fuzzy had to recreate the whole story he had ready for us. Make no mistake, this kinda event takes a lot of preperation so please show up and respect the speaker when he talks :)

Meet up outside Undercity at 19:30 gt and get ready for some storytelling!

Remember it get chilly at night so bring wood, flint and timber so we can make some fires. Booze helps you keep warm too for the record :p

A Steamy Romance Novel

To those who never had the plessure of reading this nice little novel that rogues can steal from humanoids, heres the story:

As Nahni glided up, the grizzled warrior gave her a hard stare. "I suppose you're here to collect the reward for killing those murlocs?"

Her eyes wandered down to the glowing broadsword at his side. "That depends on what the reward is, Marcus." She twirled her hair playfully, pretending not to notice how he shifted uncomfortably in her presence. "I may not want it."

Marcus stepped toward her, bristling with a mixture of fear and anger. "The reward is not negotiable!" He paused for a moment while gathering his nerve, and pressed himself against her diminutive form. Their lips met hotly, melting her frost armor spell in a torrent of sweltering vapor.

"So, is there another step to this quest?" she teased, her eyes glittering with excitement.

This goes on for several hundred more pages, without advancing the plot

Meaningless Proffesion?

So what to do after hitting lvl 70 when you dont enjoy raiding much? And you like pvp'ing but find it boring on your own? Well then maybe its time to look at some of your skills and lvl them up. I started with cooking which wasnt so bad and i ended up being able to create stuff that can benefit myself and i can donate to the raids - so thats sweet. Didnt really cost me any money to lvl either.

Then i thought i should lvl my leather working skill so that it could benefit others as well. So i grindede and grinded and grinded. Needless to say i used a lot of gold on recepieces and mats! Mijos lw skills is now at a semi-impressive lvl of 358 out of 375 and there still a long way to go.

One day i was omw to yet another grinding drenzy when i realised that its no use spending time grinding motes and leather to lvl my lw skill, when all i can make as higher a lvl leatherworker requres that i raid! However i spend awfull lot of money to lvl this, so would be a waste giving it up, so now ill just make low lvl stuff and sell my leather to get some money!

Thank you for listening to my latest frustration :p

Easter Eggs 2

Time for another peek at some of the easter eggs to be found around Azeroth and Outland. This time Mijo has found references to a lot of old stuff; an old horror movie, a gothic novel from 1897 and one of my favourite arcade games !

Picture One: This mob pays Area 52 in Netherstorm a visit from time to time, to trash the goblin's big rocket. The goblins isnt too thrilled about that, so they ask you to go kick some robot arse! The robot looks just like the fel reavers you meet when you arrive to Outland in Hellfire Peninsula, but the special thing about this one is that it is named Negatron - very similair to "Megatron" who is the bad "guy" in the universe of Transformers, that consist of cartoons, toys and lately a pretty awesome movie ;)

Picture Two: This bloodsucking beast can be found around Zangarmash and is a very easy kill. Theres something unregular about it anyway, since it is the only one of its kind named "Count". Sine this beast enjoys drinking blood, it seems that "Count Ungula" is a reference to the legend of the vampire Count Dracula. Catch it if you can, but watch out - it bites!

Picture Three and Four: Atleast as an undead you must have spend some time around Undercity and Sepulcher and have run into the inkeepers there. At first sight theres nothing unusual about these gentlement but if you look at their pictures together you will realise that theres something familiar about their names. Norman Bates is actually the name of the killer in the horrormovie "Psycko" with the famous shower scene. And Norman bates happens to be an inkeeper as well! So watch your step with these fellas, im not sure its safe to check in with these guys.

Picture Five: This last one might seem a bit vague and i must admit i didnt realise this could be an easter egg myself. But being a big fan of the old game "StreetFighter" i just had to go visit this guy. "Hadoken" is the....sound or yell from one of the games most famous characters that will most definitly annoy you if you play it enough and will stick to your mind forever! However, someone liked it enough to name this Npc Hadoken and you can see him in Camp Mojache, Feralas :)

Tiger Update

Heres some info you might wanna check out:

1. If you have a real life friend that wants to join the guild, he/she has to make an application on the forum and wait for confirmation from the officers (can take a couple of days, max). If you are ranked Tiger any real life friends of your are welcome without having to make an application first. We would, however, still like to know who people are (or atleast what kind of player they are) so it would be nice if they could introduce themselves in the introduction thread anyway :)

2. Theres no limit on how many alts you can have in Tiger. If you remove your main from the guild but still have alts with us, please let us know witch alt you want as your main so you can get the right rank.

3. We have a channel called "Dancingtiger" where people from Tiger and our fellow guild Dance Macabre can communicate. Please log in to this channel as you will get more friends :P To join simple write "/join dancingtiger".

Latency 2005!

So the other day i was helping Naarmans rogue killing elites in Helfire and just as the elite is almost dead - i start to lagg. I cant see the mob, Naarman dies and i just try to run to safety. It works at first and everything seems to work again, but then suddenly my healt starts to drop badly. Far far away i can see theres an elite bashing at something thats not there and im guessing thats me. Sadly i cant do anything about it and die. Then my latency turns red and i disconnect.

After some failed tries i get back online, but have no corpse to run to. Neither is there any Tigers online according to my rouster and my guildtabard i blank. I cant see or write in guildchat and I dc again. Havent been able to go online at all after that - and this was 2 days ago.

Luckily Naarman Internet seemed to be working just fine that night and yesterday it worked as well. So Naarman started to split my pc without finding anything so far. This morning i sat down on Naarmans pc and now his Internet doesnt work either!

So in other words, once again, we are officially /afk :(

Hopefully we will see you soon ;)

Tiger Gossip!

And now to some completely unusable rubbish:

1. Rezi is claiming to be very clever

2. Annika hates sundays

3. Fuzzy got a new job - grats

4. If Haerot (aka farukh) is grumpy it's because he keeps disconnecting - bare with him :)

5. Lucifre is a flirt

6. Zarlino left the guild to start his own called "We Love Zarlino" ^^

7. Darthalas has a very graceful dance :p

8. Lucifre and his brother Collusus made a deal; Lucifre lvl's Collusus for a bit, while Collusus takes Lucifre through some bgs...yes its very confusing so watch out, cause u never know who you are talking to.

9. If you cant find Naarman its because he started to play his rogue Razhel again. And no it is not pronounced as Rachel like the Friends character :p

10. In his spare time Seratoph like to hide under Oxtavias skirt!

11. Naarman and Darthalas seemed to have formed a new rap duo judging from that picture :p

Tiger Exam!

Now before you start getting worried, this exam im about to tell you about isnt that hard. In fact, you dont even have to study for it! And if you are already ranked Tiger you have no reason to worry at all - cause this is an exam for those who hasn't accomplished the title as Tiger yet.

As always our sweet but harsh Kiaras will take you through a physical test, usually involving some sort of killing the alliance, when she thinks you are ready for the task. The test depends on Kiaras mood so theres no real tradition in this part yet. After you completed the task Kiaras will hand you 10 questions you need to answer before you have earned your title as a Tiger.

I cant reveal the questions here, as Im sure the old Tigers would just spoil it all by revealing the answers. But i can tell you the questions are all about the guild and there will even be clues to where you can find the answer if you don't know it by heart. Besides obviously wanting to torture you, we have made the exam so that you will get a general idea of some of the important stuff in the guild and hopefully it will also teach you to navigate around the forum and this blog.

Good luck to you all :)

We Can Do It!

I just stumbled upon this picture and found it amusing. It pictures a female dwarf dressed as Rosie the Riveter from the poster with the known title "we can do it". The original Rosie poster was made by J. Howard Miller who painted posters during world war II.

The poster is now a cultural icon, representing the six million women who worked in the manufacturing plants during WW2. These women took the places of the male workers who were absent fighting in the Pacific and European theaters. The character is now considered a feminist icon in the US (and other places), and a herald of women's economic power to come. I even have her picture on a watch at home :)

But as you can see, it can also be used for other purposes ^^ If you are ever getting into trouble with some alliance and are about to give up, just remember to ask yourself; what would Rosie have said? :)

And thats about enough history for today!

Easter Eggs 1

Now i know its not easter yet, but lets skip ahead a bit and look at some of the easter eggs you can find in wow. A easter egg doesn't have to be made out of chocolate - it can also mean intentional hidden features or pop culture references. The idea is that the makers of the game put a personal signature in the game - or maybe just to amuse the players that stumbles upon them. Its called an easter egg because the hunt for them resembles the traditional easter egg hunt... apparently.

Well, I know Mijo got some sweat on her forehead when she went around the world to find some of these easter eggs. But it was worth the ride, cause what a ride! You dont have to move one bit to see them though, cause Mijo already did the footwork for you and got you pictures!

So here we go:

Picture 1: Haris Pilton, aka famous socialite Paris Hilton and her dog Tinkerbell can be found near the bar in Lower City, Shattrath. She loved getting her picture taken.

Picture 2: Ever seen the movie "Snakes on a plane"? Well, me neither - but in Nagrand at Nesingwary's Safari you can find this plane with a snake on it ;)

Picture 3: If theres some Eminem fans out there, this one should be obvious. He often refers to himself as Slim Shady - and here we have a shady dealer called Slim! You can find him in Auchindoun (Sethekk halls?) if you wish to trade with him or get an autograph maybe.

Picture 4: This one is one of the more well hidden easter eggs. In Nagrand, at Zangar Ridge beside the road, you will find a sword in a stone! Obviously referring to the novel "The Sword in the Stone". Was a rather nice sword but unfortunately it was stuck.

Theres a lot more easter eggs but ill save some of them for another time. And remember, if you just keep your eyes open, you might spot something amusing on your way :)

Post War!

There has sometimes been jokes on the Tiger forum about who could be the one with the most posts. Honestly i don't think anyone ever posted just to add to their number of posts - but we have blamed each other for it on occasions. So i thought we should have a look at who really is the ones who talks the most in this guild. Heres the top ten list of those who has most posts on the forum:

  1. Perun 669

  2. Mijo 516

  3. Glurtz 474

  4. Naarman 356

  5. Zaigerne 187

  6. Kiaras 178

  7. Gurell 163

  8. Bullus 157

  9. Reinos 123

  10. Brem 118

As you can see Perun is still the champion of our forum. Even tho he isn't actively playing wow anymore, he was the first ever to post on the forum and he even used to be the guild leader - which helps! Since Perun has been on a wow break to explore other games, i've been able to sneak up on him and its beginning to look like its actually possible to reach him one day. And if you think about the fact that Mijo is the newest member of Tiger on this list i think i deserve a "well done" for being number two. However, we must not forget that if we counted words instead of posts - Perun would no doubt be the ultimate winner!

At the third place we have Uncle Fuzzy, who like Perun is an oldtimer on the forum. I believe you will find 99% of his posts in the Bullshit thread, cause Fuzzy always have something fun to share with us. So grats with the 3rd place and thanks for all the bs you have let out on the forum in the past. Keep up the good work :)

In this case i think its worth mentioning the fourth place as well since Naarman seems to belong to the heavy weigh posters as well. After all there's a gab of 169 posts from Naarm to Zaigerne on the fifth place! The rest of the list is filled with oldtimers as well, so its going to be hard to beat them - this was never a fair fight for newcomers for sure. But some of you out there should be able to at least kick Brem off the list! So get going!

Let the post war continue!

Wowplotter!

When you go to Thottbott, you cant always count on screenshots of maps with the destination of your quest, nor will you always find good descriptions of where the quest is to be done. You can always find the cords though, which is nice if you use those. However for us who don't, we often have to spend a lot of time finding out ourselves (gees, does that mean we actually have to play the game as it was intended??)

Theres a lot of talk going on on Thottbot on why people are stupid enough to not use cords and im not trying to start one of those debates here. We all have different ways of playing, using different addons and some just don't use any at all. Its up to yourself to decide how you like to play and its very rude to call people idiots just cause they dont have the addons you like.

Well my point of this post was to let all those who dont use cords know that theres hope! If you need the location of something in a quest - forget Thottbot for a moment and try out http://www.wowplotter.com/! The site shows you where the quest items can be found on a wowmap and its easy piecy from there! Check out the photo if you are having trouble getting started.

And if you are sitting out there now thinking "Pfft this site is old news" - then shame on your for not sharing that information! :p

A photographers troubles!

As if it wasn't hard enough to get those perfect shots of you Tigers when i run into you - now Blizzard has been so brilliant to remove the names above peoples heads, when you remove your interface to take a nice screenshot. Then how on earth am i going to remember who is who when i finally put it on photobucket? Also it removes any textbox above you, so i cant see what you are saying either!

If anyone has a trick on how to change the settings so i can still see the names and textboxes when i remove the interface - please let a frustrated photographer know!

Btw, I uploaded a bunch of new photos in the family album on Photobucket after all :)

And remember that everybody is welcome to upload screenshots or rl pictures there. For username and password please check the forum.
